Fort Collins police have released a composite drawing of a man wanted in connection with an assault that occurred September 2 at approximately 2:53 a.m. and is asking for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

A 25 year-old man, celebrating his birthday with three friends, got into a fight with an unknown male after leaving the bars in Old Town. The victim, who was intoxicated, walked to the intersection of Mathews and E. Olive Street with friends and sat down to rest when a man approached stating he was a Fort Collins Police Officer. When questioned, the unknown male acknowledged he was not a police officer but wanted to make certain everyone got home safe. The involved parties argued and a physical altercation occurred. The victim suffered facial injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police have interviewed witnesses and several of the involved parties yet have not been able to identify the suspect at this time. The attached composite drawing of the suspect was recently completed by one of the witnesses and is being released to the public in anticipation that someone will be able to identify him.

The suspect was described as being a clean-shaven Caucasian male in his twenties, approximately 6’ or taller with a muscular build and blond hair.

Anyone with information about this assault or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Neal Hisam at 970-224-6116 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868 where you will remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward.
