Attempted Kidnapping

On Thursday, June 3 at approximately 6:30 a.m, a 21-year-old woman reported an unknown man attempted to kidnap her while riding her bicycle on S. Shield Street at Hill Pond Road. According to the victim, the man driving an older white station wagon with rust spots partially obstructed her path and attempted to get her attention as she rode northbound on the sidewalk. Believing the motorist needed assistance, she stopped and dismounted as the man approached her. It was then that she saw the man had a knife in his hand. She attempted to flee, fell to the ground, and two passing motorists stopped to assist. The suspect fled northbound on Shields Street in his vehicle. The victim was not injured.

The victim called 9-1-1 to report the attack and was able to provide police with a possible Colorado license plate number. Police have been unable to locate the vehicle or the driver.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties, with a shaved head or very short hair, approximately 5’7” tall and weighing 200 to 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jean shorts. He spoke English with a heavy Spanish accent. A composite
