Fort Collins police are continuing to investigate a rash of vandalism to cars which occurred between 7 and 8:30 p.m. on January 27, 2011.  The vandalism occurred in the area bordered by Overland Trail, Mulberry Street, Shields Street, and Drake Road.  Police received several calls from residents reporting someone had thrown rocks through the windows of their parked cars.  To date, vandalism to a total of 17 cars has been reported with an approximate aggregate damage estimate of $8,000.

Several witnesses in the area were able to provide police with a description of the car involved in the criminal mischief which led police to contact 3 juveniles and 1 adult suspects believed to be involved in the incidents.  No charges have been filed at this time as the case remains under investigation.

Fort Collins police remind citizens to watch out for each others property, to be observant of unknown persons in your neighborhoods, and to report any suspicious circumstances or incidents of vandalism or police promptly.
