Fort Collins police are investigating two recent incidents of vandalism to patrol cars which occurred within the past two weeks. The first incident occurred on February 12 in the vicinity of Timberline and Trilby Roads; the second occurred on February 18 near Harmony and Ziegler Roads. In both incidents unknown persons etched obscenities on the body of the vehicles as well as broke windows on one of the patrol cars while the cars were parked overnight. Entry was not gained into the interior of either car and nothing was taken. The cost to repair the vehicles is likely to be several thousand dollars. These types of incidents whether to police vehicles or private citizen cars is not only inconvenient but costly to the vehicle owners.

Fort Collins police are asking citizens to watch out for each others property, to be observant of unknown persons in your neighborhoods, and to report any suspicious circumstances or incidents of vandalism or police promptly.

Anyone with information about these incidents or vandalism to citizens’ vehicles is asked to contact Officer Duncan at 970-221-6540 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868. Crime Stoppers may also be reached through their Web site at www.stopcriminals.org. Photo sketch of suspect!
