ARMED ROBBERY
SOLVED

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Shell Station at 4325 East Harmony Road in Fort Collins at 6:00 AM on August 13, 2008. It was reported that the suspect entered the gas station, brandished a shotgun and demanded the cash in the safe and cash register. The suspect is 5’11” tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, a long-sleeved shirt and blue or black jeans. He was also wearing a dark blue bandana around his mouth.

The second suspect who was waiting in a black mid 1980’s Chevy Blazer, possibly an S10, was approximately 30 years old, 5’8” tall, average build, with brown hair and wearing a baseball cap. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash to the east and then southbound on Interstate 25.

SUBJECT: Suspect arrested in Shell Station Robbery (081508)

A suspect in the Shell Station armed robbery has been arrested. The Shell Station located at 4325 E. Harmony Rd. in Fort Collins, was held up at approximately 6:00 AM on August 13, 2008.

Loveland Police Department arrested 25-year old Carl Espinoza early Thursday morning after they received a report of a taxi cab driver being robbed in Loveland.

Following interviews with Espinoza by Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Loveland Police Department, Espinoza became a suspect in the Shell Station robbery.

Espinoza has not been charged at this time and the investigation is continuing.

Because of the continuing investigation by Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the Loveland Police Department, no picture of Espinoza will be released at this time. Espinoza is currently being held in the Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins.
