Citizens’ Assistance Sought in Identifying Callers Voice

Fort Collins police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the voice of an unknown male who made three threatening telephone calls on Saturday, March 28, 2009 which referred to a public official as the target of the threats.

Between 9:54 p.m. and 10:34 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, an unknown man called the Fort Collins Police dispatch center and made three threatening calls from a pay phone which reference the use of a firearm.
Police believe the calls were made by one individual.

No additional information is available for release.

The following is the transcript of the caller’s statements:

 

Threat Against Public Official

Suspect: “I have to do it. It’ll be long range.”

“The hit I won’t take any money for, it’ll be because I’ve been trained, and it’s good practice.”

“Long range.You’ve been warned.You’ve been told.”

 

“I’m think’n uh…an easy 200 yard shot, and it’ll probably be uh….I’m gonna try 168 grain boat tail, so it’s probably uh, Dupont30-31 compressed load.”

Dispatcher: “What’s your name sir?”

Suspect: Hangs up.

Suspect: “I’m doin’ at a 1000 yards just for the fun of it. A ghost from past.”

Dispatcher: “I’m sorry sir, can you say that again please?”

Suspect: Hangs up.
