Fort Collins police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing of a woman in the 2000 block of Huntington Circle at about 6 a.m. today.

Police said the woman was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of “non-life threatening” injuries.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call early this morning and found the victim, who had been stabbed. The male suspect left the scene before officers arrived and as of midday had not been located, according to a statement from police.

Fort Collins police remained tightlipped about the incident.

A woman who lives on the block says she was surprised to wake up to the commotion in what’s usually a quiet neighborhood.

“I woke up at 7:45 a.m. There were six cops lined up in the road, and then I came upstairs and they were trying to get in the front door and looking around,” Heidi Vandergriend said.

She said she has seen a couple, and several kids at the home, but does not know them. She said in general, it’s a friendly area.

“It’s unusual for around here,” she said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Fort Collins police Detective Mike Boward at (970) 416-2619 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at (970) 221-6868.
