On April 23, 2015 at approximately 7:57 pm the Loveland Emergency Communications Center received a call from Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Communications center. The LCSO relayed that there was a woman in Estes Park who had reported being forced into her own car (a blue 2013 Hyundai sedan) and abducted by a man at the Thompson Valley Towne Center parking lot in Loveland. She said that she was forced to drive her own car to an area just outside Estes Park and was then locked in the trunk of the car. She used her mobile phone to call 911.

The original call was taken by the Estes Park Communications Center at 7:34 pm. Estes Park Police Department (EPPD) officers were immediately dispatched to the area. The officers found the woman’s car keys at the scene and rescued her from her car’s trunk. LCSO deputies and medical aid also arrived. The LCSO and the EPPD conducted a search/canvass of the area where the woman was located with approximately sixteen total personnel but were unable to locate a suspect.

Loveland Police Department detectives responded to Estes Park to take over the investigation. The woman who reported the incident told investigators that she had not been physically harmed during the incident.

We do not have a description of the man reported to have committed this act. The investigation has not revealed information that leads our detectives to believe there is a general threat to the public.
