Sexual Assault at knife point at CSU.

A woman reported being sexually assaulted at knifepoint near College Avenue on the CSU campus in Fort Collins late Thursday night, university officials said.

The woman told police she was walking on the Jack Christiansen Track by College Avenue arpimd 10 p.m. when a man with a knife attacked her from behind.

The man was wearing a black ski mask, brown jacket, jeans and work boots, the woman told police.

Police on Thursday night declined to say whether there was a continuing danger to the community but sent a safety alert to the campus community.

Police cordoned off a grassy and bushy area about 100 feet north of the track and searched a parked silver SUV.

Colorado State University officials on Thursday night said they did not immediately know if the woman was a student.

The man was last seen heading east toward College, the woman told police.

Jack Christiansen Field is the CSU track and field complex, west of College Avenue between Pitkin Street and University Avenue.

On Sept. 13, a male victim told CSU police he was pushed to the ground by a man wearing a ski mask while he walked on the track that night. The suspect in that attack was described as about 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds, with a raspy voice.
