Charges Filed in Series of Assaults
As part of a joint investigation, investigators from Fort Collins Police Services and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office met with the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office regarding the series of physical assaults against women which have occurred in the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County since late September. The following charges have been filed against Jose Alderette-Gomez related to the assault cases which occurred in Larimer County and Fort Collins:
Count I – Assault in the Second Degree
Count II – Unlawful Sexual Contact
Count III – Harassment
Count IV – Assault in the Third Degree
Count V – Assault in the Third Degree
Count VI – Habitual Criminal
Count VII – Habitual Criminal
Count VIII – Habitual Criminal
The charges against Mr. Alderette-Gomez are merely an accusation. The defendant in any criminal proceeding is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
The investigation of these incidents remains active as investigators continue to follow up on leads and conduct forensic analysis in the case.
