On November 21, 2014, at 10:59 am, as the result of a joint investigation with Fort Collins Police Services, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fort Collins resident Jose Angel Alderete-Gomez (07/08/1987) on allegations of 2nd Degree Assault. This arrest is related to the assault reported to LCSO on October 8, 2014 during which a woman was attacked by a male while riding her bicycle along the Highway 1 corridor just north of Fort Collins.
Larimer County Sheriff’s Office investigators have been and continue to work with Fort Collins Police Services investigators concerning incidents that occurred within the city limits of Fort Collins related to similar assaults in the months of September, October, and November. Fort Collins Police Services is conducting further investigation and forensic analysis on the remaining cases.
Alderete-Gomez is being held in the Larimer County Jail on $450,000 bond for 2nd Degree Assault and unrelated domestic violence allegations by Fort Collins Police Services.
