Fort Collins police are investigating after a 36-year-old man reported being stabbed while sleeping at an Old Town-area park.

A resident in the 100 block of Buckingham Street called police about 7 p.m. Friday to report that a man came to the home and reported being stabbed, said Cory Christensen, deputy chief with Fort Collins police. The man reported being stabbed while sleeping at nearby Lee Martinez Park.

Poudre Valley Hospital EMS treated and transported the man to MCR with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives continued to comb the area around the home and nearby parks late into the evening searching for clues. A detailed suspect description was not immediately available.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
